Open Lab Fridays at Viam
- WHO IT IS FOR: Technical founders, software engineers, and robotics enthusiasts looking for hands-on hardware experience.
- WHAT IT IS ABOUT: A dedicated open lab session to build, prototype, and experiment with real robotic arms and hardware using the Viam platform.
- FORMAT: An open-access lab session with dedicated workstations and light engineering support.
Unlock the potential of physical robotics at Viam’s NYC lab during our Open Lab Fridays. This unique opportunity allows engineers and innovators to step away from the screen and get hands-on with professional-grade hardware. Whether you are prototyping a new startup concept or continuing a project from a recent hackathon, our lab provides the tools you need to turn code into motion.
Each registered attendee receives a dedicated workstation equipped with a robotic arm—such as a UFactory xArm or Universal Robots arm—along with grippers, depth cameras, and Linux compute machines. You will have full access to the Viam robotics platform, extensive documentation, and our AI Assistant to help you troubleshoot and build at your own pace. If you own an SO-101, feel free to bring it along to integrate with our ecosystem.
While this is not a structured workshop, the Viam engineering team will be on-site to provide light support as you navigate your projects. Space is limited for these October sessions, so reserve your spot early to secure your workstation and start building the future of robotics in the heart of New York City.
