Open Lab Fridays at Viam
- WHO IT IS FOR: Technical founders, software engineers, robotics enthusiasts, and hackathon participants looking for hands-on hardware experience.
- WHAT IT IS ABOUT: An open-access session to prototype projects, experiment with robotic arms, and master the Viam platform using real-world hardware.
- FORMAT: An open lab session providing dedicated workstations and light engineering support for independent project development.
Unlock your creative potential at Viam’s Open Lab Fridays in New York City. This unique opportunity allows engineers, entrepreneurs, and robotics enthusiasts to step away from the screen and work with physical hardware. Each attendee receives a dedicated workstation equipped with high-end robotic arms, such as UFactory xArm or Universal Robots, integrated with advanced sensors and Linux compute machines to bring your digital concepts into the physical world.
Whether you are a technical founder prototyping a new product, a software engineer testing new algorithms, or a Viam hacker continuing work from a previous event, this lab provides the tools you need to succeed. While this is an open lab rather than a structured workshop, the Viam team will be on-site to provide light engineering support. You can also leverage Viam’s extensive documentation, free educational courses, and AI Assistant to troubleshoot and build your project at your own pace.
