- WHAT IT IS ABOUT: Designing and prototyping AI agents that solve real-world problems in local day-to-day life.
- FORMAT: A fast-paced afternoon hackathon featuring team building, product development, and live demos.
Join CMU-SV and NewsBreak for an intensive AI hackathon dedicated to 'AI for Local Life.' Participants are challenged to build AI agents that tackle tangible everyday issues, ranging from community safety and convenience to local discovery and errands. Whether you arrive with a pre-formed team of 2–5 or find partners on-site, you'll have four hours of dedicated hacking time to turn your concept into a working prototype.
The event takes place at the NewsBreak Headquarters in downtown Mountain View, providing a professional environment for innovation and collaboration. The day concludes with a series of live demos and feedback from a judging panel led by NewsBreak's Head of Finance, Investor Relations, and Corporate Development, Mary Zeng.
Beyond the experience of building with fellow students, participants have the chance to win ECE and NewsBreak swag. Most importantly, top performers may earn interview opportunities for internship and new graduate positions at NewsBreak, making this a premier networking and recruiting event for aspiring engineers.
