“Automation for the people, by the people” Kick off event
ABOUT THIS EVENT
- WHO IT IS FOR: Researchers, builders, and activists interested in the intersection of automation, governance, and collective liberation.
- WHAT IT IS ABOUT: Exploring how automation can be reimagined as a tool for public luxury and community empowerment rather than extraction.
- FORMAT: A welcome mixer and introductory session to kick off an 8-week residential research stretch.
Join us in San Francisco for the kick-off event of 'Automation for the people, by the people,' a unique 8-week residential research stretch hosted by The Embassy. From August 1st through October 1st, this cohort will investigate a critical question: What if automation were a tool for collective liberation instead of extraction?
This gathering serves as a welcome event where guests can meet the current residents and begin designing the summer's experimental plans. With a few spots still open for new collaborators, this is an opportunity to move from being subject to automation to actively governing it. Come help us explore how these new approaches can build public luxury and shared prosperity.
